Named a world heritage site Kew Royal Botanical Gardens is a place where the world’s plant life is safeguarded and where the use of sustainable plants is promoted. The Royal Botanical Gardens Kew is a feast for the horticultural eye, with every plant you can imagine from humble Daffodils to more extravagant orchids and alpine plants. The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew works with organisations from all over the world to preserve plant life for our future generations and also the Millennium Seed bank.

Kew Pots & Kew Planters At The Orchard

As some of the keenest gardeners and plants specialists in the world Kew have also licensed a range of garden accessories for those of us who like to dabble in our own little piece of paradise.  The Kew Gardens collection of garden pots and planters as stocked by The Orchard is a highly coveted range. The Kew pots are approved by the Royal Botanic Gardens and each one bears the Kew crest.

First created around fifteen years ago, to this day each and every piece is created with the utmost care and attention. Each pot is individually hand thrown to traditional methods. Similarly the glaze colours are hand mixed which means although there are set colours you may find that tiny quirk in each that item makes it that little bit different from the rest and personal to you. The crackle effect also ensures an element of vintage style uniqueness to each and every item.

The Kew pots are made from Red Clay Terracotta with each pot taking around two to four weeks to complete, depending on the outside weather conditions. The factory that creates these stunning items gives work to many local people and families creating a happy, warm and caring environment. A great amount of research is done via the Royal Botanical Garden and the royalty payments made from each sale going towards much needed research and conservation work.

Here at The Orchard we stock a wide range of designs and a variety of colours offering an outstanding choice to bring that little bit of extra colour and elegance to your home or garden. The most popular choice is undoubtedly the Kew Long Toms, a practical collection of plant pots offered in a choice of three sizes. Originally intended for the growing of tomatoes and sometimes referred to as a waisted pot, the Kew Long Toms are ideal for plants which like a long root run. At the other end of the plant pot spectrum are the large garden pots that are the Kew Grande Pots. Substantial and capacious, these Kew pots are ideal for the larger plant or small shrub.

Similarly popular are the garden planters from the collection. The Oval Troughs are particularly sought after and are often as scarce as gold dust! Suitable for indoor and out, these particular pots are so stylish many of our customers use them as wine or champagne buckets! The Low Planters are a more readily available and practical alternative. A good sized round planter available in a choice of sizes and colours. Beyond the pots and planters our Kew Gardens collection incorporates stylish, vintage styled jugs, vases, footed bowls and candles. The vases make for beautiful Mothers Day or wedding gifts particularly when filled with gorgeous blooms and the footed bowls are another versatile item suitable for indoors or out. Using for planting, display or as a fruit bowl.

All of our Kew pieces are available in a selection of beautiful heritage colours from Duck Egg Blue to Chartwell Green and antique white tones such as Ivory or Bone. So if you consider yourself green fingered, have an eye for vintage style and colour and will take comfort from the knowledge your purchase is aiding research and conservation work then The Orchards collection Of Royal Kew Botanical Gardens pots and planters is most certainly for you.
