Wow! What a Christmas period we had, this is the first time there’s been enough time to get back to bloggin’! Here at The Orchard we were incredibly busy, and then all of a sudden it was over – except it wasn’t really, as we are now in the process of opening a new showroom, deciding on new ranges, and planning trips to product shows and fairs. No rest for the wicked, as they say.
But, no matter how many festive periods we drag ourselves through, no matter how many showrooms we open, our first priority is still Shabby Chic! So, we thought we would share some tips on how to ‘get the look’, as a new year treat for everybody.
Anything can be shabby chic. Big furniture, small accessories – it’s all possible. The best thing is, there are no concrete rules. Distressing, for example, is a sliding scale dependent on taste. Almost any colour can be used, especially when creating an original, unique statement piece.
As well as providing shabby chic pieces, we love seeing people’s own (re)creations. The internet is awash with guides and tips as to how existing items can be transformed.
We’ve created a Pinterest board with some really useful and imaginative ideas. Have a look and see what you come up with!
