Last night saw our favourite TV programme culminate in victory for 23 year old John Whaite, whose exquisite ‘Heaven and Hell Cake’ proved to be the deserving winner.

We at The Orchard are not alone in our obsession over ‘GBBO’, which has become one of the BBC’s most popular shows. We are allowed to enjoy, guilt-free, the creative process behind some truly remarkable treats. Not only this, it has become a bit of a tradition at The Orchard to try and spot which of our products are on screen! The contestants (especially Brendan!) could often be seen sipping from a PiP Studio mug…

We at The Orchard have all had our favourite recipes during the course of the series, so we thought we’d share them, in an attempt to fill the void left by The Great British Bake Off! (You could also try filling said void with your own baking masterpieces!)

First up, is Laura’s favourite – Mary Berry’s ‘Fraisier Cake

“An incredibly pretty French cake filled with delicious strawberries and crème pâtissière. Tricky to achieve but certain to impress.”

You can find the recipe and preparation method for the Fraisier cake here;

How lovely-looking can a cake get!? The only thing we can think of to make it look any nicer, is if it was sat on an equally pretty ceramic cake stand – like these!

We have plenty more PiP Studio crockery, as well as lots of cake-orientated goodies, on our website. Head over and take a look!
